The Role
Hugely enjoyed it
I felt part of the team straight away and was made to feel valued and a big part of the team
To a very large extent. At the beginning of the placement I spent a few days shadowing members of the team to familiarise myself with the tasks I would be performing. After that they welcomed questions at any stage and were very helpful in every aspect.
It varied from day to day. On certain days I was constantly busy with lots of work to do and at other times I would have a lot less to do.
I was given alot of responsibility throughout the placement. As a result of the help provided to me by my team I felt comfortable with this
It gave me a greater insight into products such as bonds which I studied in college
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in the office. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun yet it remained helpful and professional.
Overall it was well organised, however I feel there are some problems created by having a group of interns in a seperate office like we were and having all the talks and internship events in the main office, elsewhere.
My team invested alot of time in teaching me all about the daily work and this was very beneficial. There was also online training programmes.
Sports and Social Club
Healthcare from home
From what I've experienced, they are quite appealing
The Culture
There was a good social scene between the interns however all events were created by the interns themselves. It would have been nice to have an official interns event orgainised by Citi as most the of the social events were attended by the same small group of interns, where an officially organised event may have lead to more interns becoming involved and attending.
Quite expensive but because its the area I live throughout the year I'm used to it
Very good
There was oppurtunites such as volunteering and joining the Citi GAA team which I really enjoyed
