About You
Informative about the application process, good networking opportunities (probably more so with the other students on the insight day than the actual B of E employees).
Not really applicable.
Lots of guidance on the internship application process, plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Helpful sessions on applications, insight into the work of employees - met a range from across the bank.
The Company
Could have been more formal/ at times felt a bit hap-hazard.
Good fun, but as above could be more formal.
As much as could have been expected really - free lunch, interaction with several employees (almost all quite low level), as well as opportunities to claim travel expenses.
Very informative - plenty of time to chat with different employees as well as a formal Q&A session.
The bank felt relaxed and enjoyable compared to the stuffy public perception and compared to the cold and stern impression given off by private sector financial institutions.
If anything, i felt that they slightly deterred more determined individuals, as they emphasised the relatively short work days. They remained a very attractive option in terms of academics and academic study.
Everything Else
Offered twice the opportunity to fill out expenses forms.
Plenty.
Free wine and food, and a friendly informal atmosphere. Perhaps not quite as 'professional' as others - less opportunities for business card collecting. (This might be a good thing)
Not really.
Absolutely worth a day's time.
