The Role
The fact that I was involved in a real project made my internship very exciting and enjoyable.
I felt that I was making a real contribution to the project and helping my team meet the upcoming deadlines.
My supervisors were always happy to help/assist me whenever I was in need or had queries.
I was fairly busy over my internship, although they were times I was not doing much as I finished my tasks quicker than expected.
I had some responsibility which was mainly assisting the senior engineers with various tasks needed to complete their projects.
This internship provided me with a very valuable insight into an engineering world in terms of not only knowledge-wise but also skill-wise. I have considerably improved my teamwork and communication skills which will be essential in my future career.
The Company
The people in my office were very friendly and welcoming.
It was quite organised although I felt like it could have been a bit more engaging e.g. apart from office work, I would have liked to go on site; do some fieldwork
My internship was organised in such a way that not only Atkins would benefit from my assistance but also I would be able to develop a number of skills and broaden my engineering knowledge.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I would definitely try joining the graduate scheme at Atkins as I really enjoyed my placement.
The Culture
The social scene was quite good in the office I worked. People would definitely go out for either lunch or after work drinks on fridays apart from corporate social events we had every few weeks.
The socialising in the area was definitely affordable.
not applicable to me as I have never went out in the area I worked in.
Since I lived too far away from my workplace and had to commute 1.5 hours every day, I preferred not to be engaged in anything afterwork.
