The Role
I enjoyed my time at PwC in Reading, and felt very welcomed by all the staff I worked with.
Everyone made me feel very welcome, and were also very happy to answer all my questions and help me to complete all the tasks I was assigned.
I had a coach, who met up with me regularly to see how I was getting on, and I had objectives to try and achieve.
There were times when I had plenty to do, but at other times there wasn't much to be done as we were waiting for data from a client, or for work to be reviewed. We were set a project which we could be getting on with during these times, which meant that there was always something we could be getting on with.
I was always working on current clients to complete tasks necessary for the engagement. I was also able to speak to clients on my own to get the necessary information for my tasks.
I developed my communication skills, and also got an insight into the industry that I will be working in once I graduate.
The Company
When I was in the office, there was always a good atmosphere - however, most of the time I was out in different client offices.
We had a week of training at the beginning of the internship to give us the basic skills I needed to be able to get started straight away with client work. There was a clear coach and buddy system to support us through the internship, and there were days set aside to work with the other interns and feedback on the internship.
We had 4 days residential training, as well as local IT training.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a job to start after I have graduated.
The Culture
We were all out at different clients in different places a lot of the time so it was difficult for all of the interns to get together.
I was living at home for the duration of my internship.
