The Role
I throughly enjoyed the work placement much more than I was expecting. It was a very useful experience.
Colleagues offered support and recognised good work.
There were always people available to answer any questions, everyone was approachable.
Days would vary, but for the majority of my time I was quite busy.
I was given a lot more responsibility than I was expecting. It's up to the individual as to how much responsibility they want to take on.
The skills I have learnt have been invaluable.
The Company
The atmosphere was quite relaxed.
There were not many events held exclusively for one year placement students, although I am aware that this is changing.
There were lots of sessions to attend such as excel training, insolvency knowledge and basic book keeping.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Healthcare/Dental
I am going back to Grant Thornton after I graduate, getting a job with them through my placement has relieved a lot of pressure from final year!
The Culture
There weren't many placement students, however there were lots of graduates and there were always social events taking place.
Very expensive - London!
Lots of variety
There were many sports teams and anyone could be involved even if you weren't very experienced.
