The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at SAP. I feel that I have been given a great amount of responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to the success of the team.
I have played roles in a number of teams and projects with management, customers and partners. I feel that I was able to contribute and add value in a number of areas, which was always well received and supported by my colleagues.
I always felt able to approach colleagues in my team for help and guidance on any topics. I had regular meetings with my manager and 'buddy' to review my work and progress.
During the on-boarding period, I sometimes had little work to do as I was unable to carry out the tasks until I had been trained. Once I had gained experience, I felt able to be more proactive in managing my work load and contributed in more areas.
I was given a number of opportunities to play key roles within project teams, where I was responsible for my own tasks and deliverables.
Throughout my placement I have been able to develop a number of key areas including time management, communication and team work skills. I feel that these skills, as well as the technical and industry knowledge which I now have, will greatly assist me in my final year University studies and future career.
The Company
I have enjoyed working with a range of people both within my direct team and the intern network.
We were given opportunities to join and contribute to intern projects but I feel that this could have been better developed, to include intern training etc.
I was able to take part in a number of classroom based courses with qualifications at the beginning of my internship. There was also an extensive amount of online material and courses available.

I would like to come back to SAP as part of a graduate scheme which is currently being developed.
The Culture
We often organised different social events and had a football team which was great for networking.
I lived in Ealing which was great for getting in and around london, but was not so cheap.
I had great access to almost everywhere within London, and there are also some good bars closer to work.
I was often invited to different networking drinks and events, and also took part in the SAP football world cup in Germany.
