The Role
A brilliant opportunity to gain an insight into the company. Many events held on the internship programme for you to network with plenty of people and boroaden your horizons within the business.
I felt that although I was an intern with minimal knowledge, I was still an integral part of the company. All members of staff treated me with great respect and valued my opinion in any context.
An incredible amount of support is provided on the internship. You are provided with specific graduates who you can turn to at any time and a line manager to maintain your progression. All other members of the Coutts establishment are very easy to talk and more than willing to take time out of their day to help you no matter what your concern may be.
At the off you are not necessarily loaded with a tremendous work load, however, if you put yourself out there as someone that wants to learn all aspects of the business, then that can very easily change!
Initially, not much responsibility is given to you. But as the internship progresses, if you want to be given more and more responsibility, members of your office will more than happily if you the opportunity to take on crucial roles.
They are invaluable skills that can relevant to all degree disciplines. Analysis is often key no matter what the nature of the work you are doing is. More importantly, you build on skills you already have and find yourself very comfortable in a banking environment.
The Company
Very positive and hardworking. All members of the office are optimistic and you settle in with easy if you are a hard worker.
Surpassed my expectation! As well as attending many events throughout the internship, you are given the opportunity to venture out and meet new people. Coutts expect their interns to be engaged with the bank as well as the work they are expected to complete.
A lot of time was invested in the interns. Comprehensive training is provided so once you are on the frontline you can engage quickly with the office and learn about the business.

The Coutts brand alone differentiates all employees from any other banking institution. My employment prospects have risen greatly because Coutts is widely recognised as employing the very best.
The Culture
All the other interns were very easy to get along with and had similar aspirations as myself. We found ourselves getting along well from the start and maintain a strong relationship throughout the internship.
London is quite an expensive place to live so regular social events can add up!
Strand is in the heart of London so there is no end to the nightlife opportunities!
