The Role
There was a great atmosphere in the office, the work was interesting and engaging and the 6 weeks flew by.
I felt like I was being useful most of the time and my colleagues were supportive and appreciative of my work.
Our Line Managers were fantastic and everyone from recent grads to senior management gave support and guidance.
Occasionally there wasn't much work going around but this was the case for the whole office and is the nature of a consultancy business. It wasn't in anyway due to us being overlooked, in fact people tried to incorporate us whenever it was possible.
Lots, we were even given the chance to manage our own mini projects, which involved chasing up our bosses to get work done.
I developed a number of skills during my internship, but they were generally 'soft skills' that I think will help me more in the future but won't have any real impact on my degree studies.
The Company
There was a really relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The office was generally quite young and we had a few good socials. The people were one of the biggest positives of the internship!
The internship was extremely well put together, with the right amount of training early on and hands on work, a lot of progression in a short time, regular catch ups and feedback sessions and a central project with other interns that filled the time when there was less client work.
We had special celeb sessions with senior associates, organised webcasts, central interns days etc all of which helped our training and development.
Company Parties/Events
We should find out about graduate offers in September and I would definitely be grateful for a chance to start my working life at Towers Watson.
The Culture
Yes, I got on very well with the other two interns and we often went for a pint after work.
Hard to comment as I was living at home and cycling to work so I hardly had any costs.
I played five a side with some colleagues and went running with others. We also had a couple of good socials.
