The Role
The work was engaging and the people were great. 6 weeks flew by.
I felt like my work was appreciated and I felt useful despite my lack of experience.
Our line managers were fantastic and very supportive, as were more senior management and new graduates alike.
Sometimes there wasn't much work going around but that is to be expected in a consultancy environment when a lack of experience limits the work you are able to get involved in.
We were given the chance to manage small projects at the end of our internships and had to instruct more senior colleagues.
I didn't develop skill useful for my degree, but my soft skills like communication and time management definitely improved, as did my technical understanding of the industry.
The Company
The office is quite young and everyone was really welcoming and friendly. The people were one of the biggest factors in it being a great internship.
The intern program is really well structured with a good balance of training, development, client work and an intern's project. Our line managers organised regular catch ups and gave us lots of feedback throughout the process.
Central intern days, training, webcasts and celeb sessions with senior associates were all organised and helped our personal development greatly.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
We should hear about graduate positions at the start of September. I would be very keen to start my working life at Towers Watson.
The Culture
I got on very well with the other interns in my office and we often had a pint after work. At the central intern days we would normally go to the pub with some of the other interns before travelling home.
Hard to comment as I was living at home and cycling to work so I had very few costs.
Bristol has good nightlife.
I played 5-a-side football and went running at lunchtime with colleagues.
