The Role
The best job I have ever had - even if it was only for 3 months!
Truly a unique working environment, everyone is treated as equals and are happy to chat any time.
Whenever faced with any difficulties management are always happy to take 5 to clarify issues.
Days are busy but enjoyable - nobody likes to be bored.
Definitely one of the most surprising features of the internship was the instant belief that the firm has in you and your abilities - a big bonus.
Everything I've done will help me progress my career in finance.
The Company
A good balance of banter and work.
Very well organised with an infallible HR department.
The firm give a lot, both in terms of time and in terms of finance to help the interns progress.
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Definitely a great place to work and would be hard to turn down an offer.
The Culture
Social scene was great, well organised but relaxed and informal at the same time with fun events planned by HR.
For me I stayed in the same flat I stay in for uni so it was virtually costless - even at that I don't hear anyone complaining about living costs. Socialising is not expensive in Edinburgh.
I have lived in Edinburgh for years so always known it has a great nightlife - particularly at Fringe time!
So many clubs and societies for both sporty and less active pursuits. Spoilt for choice.
