The Role
Really good
Most of the time they made it very clear they were interested in your abilities and growth and the part you could come to play on their desk.
Managers and supervisors were more than willing to give you their time (provided you did not ask at a stupid time!) and understood the position we were all in.
Usually kept very busy both with tasks on desk and internship specific activities designed to enhance learning and fun.
Varies across desks, but I would say just the right amount of responsibility you would want without it becoming daunting, and with scope to vary according to how comfortable you were.
Not so sure about helping in my degree but will definitely be invaluable in future.
The Company
A very manageable balance of hard work and fun - you don't want to work somewhere that does nothing after all!
Very good.
They really take the time to craft the internship around you and ensure efforts are made to make sure you are welcome and useful not just sitting there. Surprised some banks don't give interns bloomberg as was critical to day-to-day work
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Would be fantastic.
The Culture
everyone very keen to accomodate from the firm, interns both very friendly and always willing to do stuff but understanding and would not hold it against you if you wanted to get an early night
Not as bad as you might expect around C Wharf, but you are living in london.
its london - something for everyone. cant beat it for nightlife
played cricket against clients!
