About You
It was an interesting day, gave me an overview of the company and what opportunities were available to me - very informative.
They were all very friendly and welcoming. Was only there for a day so difficult to get to know people very well but that can't be helped. Enjoyed the fact that we were able to talk to other employees on the networking lunch, made it more interactive
Again, they were very helpful and informative and took into account my situation and what I wanted to do (go to uni) when talking individually to me about the opportunities available. The day was not necessarily for support but for gathering information.
It wasn't necessarily a skill day more gathering information. However, it did make me more aware of what was expected of graduate intake students and therefore make me more prepared for the future.
The Company
Good flowed smoothly, had a large variety of people speaking and information given. Gave us time to talk to current employees individually at the networking lunch which I found very useful as didn't want to ask questions while they were talking as they were very specific to me.
Good, I liked that the group wasn't too big. We were given interactive activities to do as well which I think kept everyone's attention as made us think rather than just listening to people speak all day which can be boring.
It was only an insight day, no commitments or training involved.
I think talking to current employees really helped make us understand what it would be like to work for them. It would have been nice to do 'life in the day of' or look more specifically at certain employment areas which they did a bit but could have done more of.
Difficult to understand the company culture as only there for a day but we were given information about it and from how enthused speakers were about their jobs it sounded as though it was a great company to work for with a great company culture.
I am very unsure of my future career path so it was good to learn about some types of jobs which I had never even heard of and what they involve. It helped me think about what sort of roles I think I would enjoy doing and which ones I wouldn't.
Everything Else
This made the day more attractive otherwise it would have been expensive for me to travel there as I lived quite far away.
Lots of opportunities, the networking lunch was really useful.
Great (networking lunch) , I think the set up could have been a bit better though - a lot of people sat down and it became difficult for them to speak to current employees rather than just amongst themselves as there were no spare seats. I think the best way is to eat in a separate room so that everyone has to be walking around and actively talking to different people.
Yes, although only briefly when some of the employees were talking about their experiences and added it in.
Yes, it was informative and good to understand a bit more about companies like BDO.
