The Role
It was my first experience working in an office and I really enjoyed it.
Very- my colleagues made an effort to make sure I had work to do and were very friendly.
Management made sure I settled in well and was aware of certain procedures, I recieved an email with newcomer information which was useful.
Most of the time had plenty to do and wasnt too rushed for any assignments.
The right amount of responsibility for what I felt comfortable with given my limited techinical knowledge having only been a first year.
The CAD skills ive learnt will be really useful for my future career and the general exposure to certain technicalities of civil and structural engineering will help when I come to cover them in my degree.
The Company
Very upbeat with everyone very friendly - a good sense of community
Could of done with a few more introductions with people in the wider office but everything else was very good
A good amount, I was able to work on a few international jobs and gain an insight into a range of projects.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Would really like to do another placement with Atkins during my future summer vacations
The Culture
Most people were really friendly and talkative.
Food was cheap enough, but unfortunately travel expenses were quite large.
Close to belfast city centre so loads of bars
Not a huge amount
