  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • It was my first experience working in an office and I really enjoyed it.

    • Very- my colleagues made an effort to make sure I had work to do and were very friendly.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Management made sure I settled in well and was aware of certain procedures, I recieved an email with newcomer information which was useful.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Most of the time had plenty to do and wasnt too rushed for any assignments.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • The right amount of responsibility for what I felt comfortable with given my limited techinical knowledge having only been a first year.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The CAD skills ive learnt will be really useful for my future career and the general exposure to certain technicalities of civil and structural engineering will help when I come to cover them in my degree.

    • Very upbeat with everyone very friendly - a good sense of community

    • Could of done with a few more introductions with people in the wider office but everything else was very good

    • A good amount, I was able to work on a few international jobs and gain an insight into a range of projects.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Most people were really friendly and talkative.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Food was cheap enough, but unfortunately travel expenses were quite large.

    • Close to belfast city centre so loads of bars

    • Not a huge amount
