About You
I had a really good time, got a much clearer impression of EY as an organization and got some great insights when it came to teamwork and leadership.
Everyone went to great lengths to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
If there was anything we weren't sure about, we knew we could ask - but generally that wasn't even necessary.
I would recommend the Leadership Academy to anyone interested in working in management - or even just in becoming a better team player and develop professionally. A good mix of personal development and practical tools to use.
The Company
The program was pretty tight, and there were a couple of times it could have been clearer in the schedule what we were doing - on the other hand, it was handled very well and was a minor issue.
Everyone was really friendly, and I think we struck the right balance between learning and being social.
I was quite overwhelmed with the lengths EY had gone to - the external lecturers, the hotel, the food, everything was wonderful.
This was the thing that made me finally decide I wanted to be with EY - Insight days can be a bit short for that, and it was great both interacting more informally with the EY staff and being able to speak to the external people about their opinions of the company.
Spending a couple of days with everyone, and being with them 24h a day, really gave me a good impression of EY, and made me trust that nobody was simply putting on a nice face.
Made me decide to definitely go for a summer internship, and most likely also a job at EY.
Everything Else
Reimbursed travel expenses, and hotel, food etc paid for. I needed to reimburse travel expenses above the usual limit, as I was flying in from Denmark, which wasn't an issue.
The recruitment staff was there for the whole time, along with some regular employees who were mentoring the groups; we also had a networking dinner and several people stopping by to tell us about EY.
We would have all liked more time to socialize, there were a lot of awesome people participating - trouble was, I at least would have loved for the 'serious' part of the program to be longer as well. Everything was quite condensed - but with the amount of time we had, we met and got to know an astonishing number of people.
We heard about the women's network at EY, and how they arrange talks etc., but not really much aside from that.
Anyone who has the opportunity should apply to this!
