The Role
A very steep learning curve, but a great challenge.
I was made to feel welcome and part of the team immediately.
The support and guidance was excellent. Rather than being told what to do, I was allowed to think for myself and develop core engineering and communication skills.
The balance was good. The nature of the work meant that there were occasions when the workload was reduced.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility. I had a real input into the day to day tasks and was responsible for the work I submitted.
The "real life" skills I have learnt will translate well to a university environment and assist me in my degree studies.
The Company
A very good atmosphere - everyone was positive, polite and helpful.
A very well run placement. The company has a buddy system which gave me an alternative point of contact to my lead engineer or line manager.
I undertook no formal training, but it was on offer if required. I felt that I was developing skills through day to day experience in the job.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I will certainly apply for a graduate position - there are a wide range of roles on offer.
The Culture
There are a few graduate/placement events to get involved with.
Average cost of living and socialising.
Bristol has a fair amount to offer in terms of Nightlife
Opportunities to play sport through the Sports and Social Club.
