The Role
I gained a great insite into audit and the worklife of BDO employees.
Very valued; I was given work that added to the team tasks.
I could email/instant message/phone/chat to my seniors when ever I needed anything.
Very busy, but busy in a good way!
I added value to the different teams I worked on.
The internship is not related to my degree, however I didn't anticipate it be therefore I am not disappointed.
The Company
Really good! Throughout the internship people went out of their way to introduce themselves to me and check that I was getting on okay.
Very well organised. On the first day I received an internship pack which outlined the whole 6 weeks.
I was given a lot of responsibility which meant that I ha to learn quickly.. I think this is the best way to learn.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very, I hope to get a job there!
The Culture
We often went out for lunch and took social tea breaks throughout the day.
Gatwick limits your ability to socialise outside work slightly, however everyone makes good a bad situation and makes the extra effort to socialise. The office also arranges once a month drinks evening in London which is well attended (and there is a free bar!).
Gatwick limits this. However London is only a 30 minute train.
There was a national football tournament that we were invited to. Our travel, accommodation and food/drink were all paid for. Other activities included weekly football after work.
