The Role
My colleagues were great fun and the clients were varied. The work itself was fun during the placement although I could imagine that it could become monotonous over a longer period.
My colleagues were fantastic.
There was ample support throughout.
I felt there were periods where I was underutilised and then periods where I felt immensely busy. Although this is due to the nature of the work rather than the work set by my colleagues.
Plenty of responsibility to write up important points, run testing and lead meetings with clients. Definitely not just making cups of tea!
The skills I learned were very useful for accountancy jobs. However, perhaps less transferable to other types of jobs or my degree.
The Company
People in my office were good fun!
Virtually seamless. Really well organised.
Gave me a laptop to use for the duration of the placement as well as invaluable training and experiences.
The internship leads to a partner interview with a high chance of gaining a permanent position.
The Culture
There were a few sets of drinks after work, which are always fun. Less of a club scene.
Bristol is relatively affordable
Bristol has good nightlife. Potentially more aimed at students than young professionals. But at my age that was perfect.
Plenty of opportunities.
