The Role
Great place to work, good social environment. Excellent place to learn and all senior staff are friendly and approachable. I was also involved in interesting projects.
Very friendly throughout the company in the offices I have been to.
I was always able to get my questions answered. Good guidance available.
Good balance, I was given tasks and allowed to work through them in my own time, reporting to senior engineers as required.
I was asked to help other people working on jobs, similar to what I have been involved in. Great experience.
I expect the skills and experience gained to be especially useful in the coming final year of my degree and my honours dissertation project.
The Company
I was fortunate enough to be in a very social team and it was good coming in to work.
I was given training and then proper project work which was great. I felt like a part of the team.
I attended graduate development meetings, aimed at the graduates in the company preparing for professional reviews with the appropriate professional organications (ICE, IStructE, IMechE) which was great.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I don't see a reason not to accept a job if offered at the end of my placement.
The Culture
Quite a few other placement students. A lot of events for us and graduates as well as everyone in the company.
It was okay.
Not particularly good, but not an issue. Many good pubs, no clubs.
Weekly 5-a-side games, tennis, touch rugby, basketball. Events with other companies which provide excellent networking opportunities.
