The Role
Varying work activities whilst having the benefit of working out of the office ensured that this role constantly kept me engaged.
Colleagues from varying areas of the business approached me to carry out work for them giving me a sense of inclusion and the feeling that I was a "normal" employee. My colleagues and I had several team socials.
Good advice given by my peers, they were always willing to provide feedback on any work I completed.
I felt pressured at times to complete work set by the deadlines meaning I felt very busy at times. I often worked outside of the "standard" working hours. However busy I was, I felt I got as much out of the placement year as possible.
I was trusted by my team enough to engage with key members of the customer's organisation.
Project management and time management will assist me in organisation during my final year of studies. For future commercial jobs, I feel my sales roles during this year gave me excellent insite into the different departments of a mult-national such as finance and project management.
The Company
The office was sometimes quiet mid-week.
Well organised in general, but sometimes conflicts between placement and actual role responsibilities.
Regular training was readily available. I was given the freedom to vary the training I undertook and tailor it to my development needs.

The Culture
We frequently organised group socials. Regular trains to London.
Proximity to London makes rent prices higher than average. Good range of student pubs/clubs make socialising relatively cheap.
During term time, very studenty atmostphere.
Plenty of opportunity, but you have to be proactive in organising much of it.
