The Role
The variety of work I was given meant I did not get bored.
Everyone was friendly, welcoming and a good laugh. They were very approachable.
Regular feedback and meetings.
I always had work to be getting on with. I sometimes had work where I had to meet a deadline. This was great experience for me as I had to work well under pressure.
Everything is monitored by the FCA so everything I did got checked by multiple people but this is how the business works no matter how qualified you are. I was relied on to get the work done by a deadline though so I did have some responsibilty.
I have learnt multiple skills during my time here from basic office skills to presentations to communicating with clients.
The Company
The atmosphere was to be expected. Serious a lot of the time with plenty of fun too. It is a successful busines so peopel were always working hard.
All the interns were well aware of what was going to happen throughout the internship. It was all clearly mapped out in our training day.
Working in the DC pensions team requires specific knowledge. Many hours have been given up by various employees explaining technical information etc. This is a massive investment. I also had training sessions with different departments so I could see how other teams work and what they do.
Company Parties/Events
Any interns which fulfil their requirements and impress are offered a job with the company after graduating. I have been offered this so in my last year I can now just concentrate on my studies.
The Culture
There were a few nights out during my time here. On many occassions we would go out for lunch with everyone for peoples birthdays etc.
Car parking is paid for by Aon so fuel is the only travel cost. Cost of living and socialising is reasonable.
Fine.
Everyone is sociable.
