The Role
It was a really good placement, with a wide variety of work and friendly staff
My colleagues were really friendly and i settled in quite quickly
My supervisor allocated me a buddy at the start to help and support me, particularly at the beginning of the placement. He also ensured I had sufficient work throughout the placement.
Sometimes there was quite a lot of work on, other times there was less, but on the whole there was a good balance
I was given a range of work, some of which required a greater responsibility than others.
I have gained a greater understanding of the industry as well as the different types of projects and aspects of project work within the water division of an engineering consultancy.
The Company
It was a really friendly and sociable office
Sometimes it was harder for me/my supervisor to find work, but this was due to the company coming to the end of their 5 year project cycles.
There was useful training at the beginning, and each person that I did work for took the time to give background information into the specific project, which helped me develop an understanding of the project.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I would certainly be very interested in applying to Mott MacDonald for a graduate job
The Culture
There were weekly events/sports as well as a few annual events, which was a great way to get involved, meet people, and socialise outside of the office
Cambridge is not the cheapest of cities, but on the whole it was not too bad.
Don't know.
There were weekly sporting events, and Friday night drinks with work and other activities outside of work such as punting.
