The Role
I really enjoyed my time at AmEx, it was by far the best job I've had in my career. Everything from the team I worked with, to the tasks I did, to the events organised by HR were really brilliant.
'Like Family' is going a little far, it was an internship after all. However, I did feel very highly valued.
All AmEx interns are assigned a 'Buddy' for the duration of their internship and that was a really fantastic support system. Additionally, everyone I interacted with personally was more than happy to give advice and support whenever needed.
I was given a variety of projects to work on which meant that my time was well filled with a great mixture of tasks.
I was given full responsibility for my specific areas of the campaigns, but wasn't involved in other areas.
This has stood me in great stead for the rest of my career, and I've definitely developed skills that can be transferred back to University.
The Company
There is a great atmosphere in the office, everyone works hard but there is always time for a quick chat. Casual Friday's is also a bonus!
From before the start date til the end of it, the internship was set up brilliantly.
We had a 2 day induction at the start of our internships where we received Excel training, presentation training and various other useful workshops.
Flexi Time

Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
Will find out in 2 weeks time.
The Culture
We had great weekly events organised by the Campus Team, so the social scene amoungst the interns was lots of fun. Additionally, there were lots of opportunities to socialise with fellow colleagues outside of work.
London is a very expensive city, especially if you're having to live away from home.
Lots of great bars in the area, and the rest of London very accessible.
Other teams had many more opportunities than my own.
