  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Company atmosphere and ethos were brilliant, but the initial learning curve in software is very steep

    • Good support, but resources were perhaps slightly stretched as there were many interns on my team

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • It's a small company with not a large number of interns, so was certainly less structured than I imagine a larger company's intern scheme would be

    • As previously mentioned, the initial learning curve was very steep and so was mentally draining, but there were social events organised once or twice a week after work to balance this

    • I was basically paid to learn to code for the first two weeks!

    • It gave a good insight, and there was plenty of opportunity to talk to full-time employees

    • Pub visits once or twice a week, also there was plenty of opportunity to speak to employees at lunch and throughout the day

    • I would recommend Softwire to anyone who is interested in programming, and particularly to anyone who is also interested in the general business world (though this is certainly not necessary)
