    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have learnt a great deal from the outset doing interesting training that I really enjoyed, and then before long I was working on real problems that again were very interesting.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have felt valued as a part of the team by my colleagues. Good stuff.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Initially I was given brilliant training, and support was always available when I needed it. With just the right levels of independence.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I always had work to do, but never felt buried by deadlines. Spot on.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was given quite a lot of responsibility, but not so much that I was constantly terrified of messing up. There are good safety systems in place to prevent messing up anyway.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I get the impression the conventions and principles everyone was using were pretty much cutting edge and the technical skills developed will always be useful in our increasingly digital age.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Quiet and productive mostly, with the occasional joke. Can't complain.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • A lot of work was clearly put in to organising the central company wide elements, and as far as everyday stuff in the office went, things were pretty much taken as they came and it was all pretty seamless.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As already mentioned. I feel I had really good training initially and then ongoing for the while time after I started on proper work.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and could see me doing something alike in the future.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The group of interns gelled really well and did quite a lot of things outside of office hours like cinema trips and evening meals out.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reigate is a very expensive town, but lovely place. And living costs were not an issue because the company subsidised them.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • One club, didn't go but I hear it's not bad. Pubs are nice but expensive.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes lots, was plenty going on but might be quite dependent on the intake.

    5/5
