The Role
This is one of the best choices i have ever made. I would highly ecourage you to keep applying for internships and placements. It was a struggle getting mine with all of the interviews as well as uni work, but now that I look back on it, it was all worth it.
I worked as part of a small international team (11 accross the world). Anything realted to finace went through me first and so i felt a very valued member of the team
I was lucky to be surrounded by a great manager and colleagues. They have always provided me with help and support when i needed it.
The work flow varies day to day. Sometimes its hard to fit a break into your day, and other days it can be quite slow. It really emphasises the importance of good time management to make sure you dont lag behind
I was astonished by the amount of responsibility given to me. Halfway into my internship, i had already invoiced $10 million as well as managing a letter of credit worth $1.5 million. This will hopefully put me in good stead for my future career.
I have definitely learned a lot during this placement. to have been able to learn them so early on is a massive advantage
The Company
There was always a good mood on the office, and we regularly all go out after work to the cinema, bowling, meals etc
there were dedicated mentors to all the interns. Every month, we would have meetings to discuss our progress, and new goals for the future
A lot of time and money was invested into our development. I feel this was really worthwhile and helped me get the most out of my placement
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I would defintely be interested in working with GE in the future
The Culture
All the interns are regularly organising events like go karting and paintablling. Every one has been really freindly and made me feel very comfortable
