The Role
The work given was challenging and the skills I learnt were valuable and useful. The flexibility in regards to how you work was amazing, and you weren't forced to work set hours - you made up your own times.
Colleagues were friendly and welcoming, but usually people tend to be busy with their own work.
Any point were I was struggling I had my manager to help me out - he told me to ask any questions I had and that his time was put towards me.
Initially I wasn't that busy as I was simply following tutorials and learning the basics, but after that I was constantly busy which was good as my day went by very quick.
I had full control over my project - it was mine to do - so I had a say in what needed to be done, although I did have my manager at hand to provide me with guidance.
I learnt a variety of skills during the internship, skills that I had not learnt and will not learn at university which made this an enjoyable experience.
The Company
People were nice in the atmosphere but usually people kept busy with their own work.
The internship was organised very well, with events such as a hackathon and dinner being organised for freshers, along with starter drinks for everyone to get to know each other.
I had a weekly meeting with my manager where we discussed my personal development and what I wanted to achieve from this internship which was very useful, it meant I could tell my manager exactly what I thought and if possible, he could then adjust my work so it was fun and not so boring.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Future employment prospects are decent within the organisation, they usually offer interns who are in their penultimate year at university a second interview for a permanent job after they graduate.
The Culture
There were company houses where you get to know interns better, and daily lunch in the canteen as well as any other events organised by interns.
The cost of everything was as expected of a London placement, although accommodation is subsidized.
Did not experience the night life in Enfield - although you are more likely to just go to central London for the night life rather than staying in London
There are weekly activities that occur within the company such as sports or board games, and they go on every lunch time so there is a large selection to choose from.
