The Role
I enjoyed coding, which I was doing most of the time. The people were mostly very friendly. The social activities outside of work were great.
People were mostly friendly.
I had both a manager and a mentor and one or the other was almost always around so that I could ask questions if I got stuck on something.
Most of the time I had work I could be getting on with, but my manager could have been more organised as there were times that I didn't have much to do other than read a book. These times probably added up to a few days over a 9 week internship.
I wrote code which is now part of the main code base.
I started out only knowing MATLAB and I now feel fairly confident with C, having been using it for most of the last 9 weeks. Interns also have to do small presentations and getting some practice at this has been very valuable.
The Company
I wouldn't say it was particularly exciting or fun but I have nothing actually bad to say about it either.
My manager and mentor had quite a lot of time set aside to help me. I spent my first week just learning a new programming language and not doing anything useful for the company.

The Culture
The company owns houses that interns can stay in, so there are normally people around to socialize with.
Company house was £9 per night. There are supermarkets close by.
This isn't really something I'm interested in but I imagine not too bad with it being fairly close to London.
There were sports activities at lunchtime and there was also an opportunity to go go-karting while I was here.
