The Role
The culture at the bank to add to its reputation and general big IB structure was really good!
Everyone is willing to give you some time even if it isn't right away. They take a keen interest in your development.
They do all they can and any further guidance and support is happily offered when asked for.
The internship isn't pretty freely structured. They give you freedom to source additional tasks and maange your own time.
It's up to you to get involved and ask for more tasks. There are some tasks assigned to you but it really is a test of your drive and apptitude to push yourself.
Definitely added discipline to my day.
The Company
The trading floor was really active in general and they do try and get you involved.
Everything moved along smoothly (i was informed of any changes in schedule well in advcance).
The company offers all it can, but it is up to you to make full use of it. Absolutely no complaints on the help offered.
Depends on the economic climate / desk requirements.
The Culture
Given our timings, the social activites was largely limited to weekends but drinks during the week was definitely a possibility.
London is pretty expensive and given the hours that an IB in general demands, there's a limit to how far you can go for the city centre.
Loads of clubs and bars in the area but they're pretty pricey.
There were volunteering events arranged (had a few options to choose from).
