The Role
It's good to work in an environment where you're both challenged and respected.
Colleagues appreciated the value that I brought to the team in terms of a fresh approach on their reports and my VBA skills.
Most of my colleagues, from fellow interns to MDs, made time for me when I needed it.
Times when you're very busy, times when you have quite a lot of downtime. You can fill the downtime with shadowing and e-lectures.
Several of my outputs will be used in the future by my team.
The training provided by UBS was excellent, from the introductory e-lectures (even before the start of the internship), to weekly operations training sessions. UBS has an online learning platform where you can take various courses for different parts of the business. More formal, in-class lectures are also available.
The Company
From weekly paper toss challenges to having heated conversations on how Breaking Bad will end. The atmosphere was excellent!
Weekly training session, Meet the CEO, volunteering, regular feedback, clear instructions and directions. The internship was set up very well.
Training is of utmost importance to UBS. (see previous comment on training).

We get a final decision on our last day, during the exit interview. I am optimistic.
The Culture
Everyone is extremely sociable. Regular pub-runs and night-outs organised between us.
London is expensive but the internship's pay makes up for it.
There's always something happening.
Weekly volunteering opportunities, different clubs and societies etc.
