The Role
Definately what i was looking for, a detailed insight into the working world of banking. UBS had a good balance of work and social events which allowed networking a lot more easier and comfortable.
did not feel like an intern for one minute, I was treated with respect at all times, and was well looked after by my team.
guidance was available everytime i required it, and was given adequate amount of Run the Bank projects which made me feel busy
I was given a number of Run the Bank projects to work on, but nothing too major as i had limited liability. therefore at times there was a small number of things to work on during the whole day, creating room for improvements.
I was responsible for quite an important number of controls, to an extent which any errors i made, would affect the whole team.
enhanced many of the skills required to be successful in this industry, such as networking, articulate and multitasking, all of which i did not have the confidence to work on prior to the internship.
The Company
Relaxed and friendly environment, althought the working hours of fellow collegues (up to 12 hour shifts!) seemed something of a concern.
Very well organised, with any changes to the schedule being notified immediately.
I felt the UBS has no expense spared when it comes to their interns/grads, as they know the importance of their future employees. UBS had always gone the extra mile to ensure we were happy/satisfied.

The Culture
very good relationship within fellow interns, many of which I became friends with.
Expensive, but was offset by pay.
no time for nightlife when youre working in an investment bank!
always opportunities popping up.
