The Role
It was very volatile. The internship began slowly before picking up speed, which was highly enjoyable. However, after I was transferred to another team the internship lost momentum again, and it was a struggle to keep myself busy, due to lack of proper training.
Initially it was just my manager and I, which was a nice relationship. However, when I moved to a team then I felt very much a part of the community.
Both managers tried to be helpful, but unfortunately were extremely busy and struggled to make time for me.
See above -- there were periods of both, but definitely not enough busy overall.
Lots with my first manager, less with my second
Not quite related to my degree but the soft skills will absolutely help my career advancement and competency, regardless of business area.
The Company
Friendly and helpful, with a desire for excellence across the board.
Unfortunately my manager was incorrectly labelled as someone not my manager, so the manager I worked for was barely aware of the internship procedures. Additionally, both of my managers had not prepared enough beforehand for my arrival, so it took quite some time before I was assigned any tasks to work on.
Visibly a lot.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Would love to return, especially if I were working in a position similar to that of my first manager due to the high levels of busyness and focus required, which I enjoyed.
The Culture
My experience meeting the other interns was the highlight of my placement.
Relatively high, but that was inevitable.
Naturally very good.
Not necessarily company-sponsored, but yes they were available.
