The Role
The internship was a great opportunity to get to know how such a big company works and I felt like part of the team as soon as I started.
You feel valued by your colleagues as you are often tasked with important tasks that can affect the business. You may feel like an outsider as an intern but they do the best they can to include you in the team and you soon feel part of the woodwork.
You are given a line manager as soon as you start who looks after you during the whole process. 1-2-1 meetings are an important part and it is an opportunity to ask questions you may not feel you can ask in the office. You are also assigned a buddy, sometimes from a different team, who will help you as well.
If you are given a good project to complete, you are a good balance of busy, but I have had days where there hasn't been too much to do. But there are many things you can do independtly to learn about the business/team.
You do have the opportunity to make decisions that ultimately affect the running of the company.
You receive a very broad set from the tasks you undertake and I feel I am able to take these on to the next year I have at university.
The Company
Very friendly and welcoming.
The beginning weeks are well organised but you occassionally get the feeling that it was planned last minute, but being the first year it is hard to judge how these things are going to work.
The company invests a lot into how you develop as a person over the 8 weeks you spend with them. A key aspect is personal development.

Company Parties/Events
They appear to be very appealing for a place on their graduate program
The Culture
Yes, everyone that I have met on the internship as well is very friendly and seems to be interested in similar things. Good social scene as people are keen to go out and make new connections.
It is a cheap area to live and socialise because it just outside of London.
There is no nightlife in the immediate area but not too far from central london where there are plenty of opportunities!
Plenty of opportunites. The team organise events for the interns across the business on a weekly basis so you get to know other interns and there has been an intern newsletter. Opportunities organised within the group of interns as wll.
