The Role
Not located in Canary Wharf gives a good boost to commuting. Teams work together spread accross the world.
Good feedback after completing work.
Weekly one to ones with my line manager. Daily team coffee breaks ensured a very good level of contact.
Had to be fairly productive in the mornings. Global conference calls in the afternoons.
Access to secure working enviroments. Presented on internal data to global conference calls.
Projects aligned well with academic specialisms.
The Company
Business functions represented were quite variable because teams tend to be geographically spread.
Representitives of HR were well organised and ensured a level of familiarity with their business areas.
A number of presentations were organised with other parts of the division as well as the company's global economist.
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Currently a lot of change to headcount, hard to know which are growing areas.
The Culture
Pleanty of adhoc intern lunches in the local market.
Central London is expensive, but there are affordable options available. Transport is another large expense however this can be avoided by cycling.
Offensively expensive at times.
There were two opportunities for voluntary work at local schools.
