The Role
I really enjoyed working with my team, and the tasks I was assigned. The company is a great place to start off a career in as they really value the new talent coming in.
My team were really welcoming and were always available for me to ask questions if I had any. They really valued the work that I was doing which was really great too.
I had regular review meetings with my line manager, to review both my work and how I was getting on in the placement. I could also approach him with questions any time.
It did vary from day to day, but it was usually a goog balance. Month end was definately on the busy side of things, and work started off slow at the beginning.
My projects were my own, so I was completely running them, with supervision from my manager and another member of my team.
I definately will look back on this experience, my first one in an office, and see how much I learn't from the past 10 weeks.
The Company
There was alway's a laugh to be had, but at the same time serious work had to happen, so it was definately a good balance and a great atmosphere to work in. It was pretty chilled out in terms of your exact time you get into work in the morning which was good.
The only thing that wasn't seamless was the organisation of our interviews at the end of the placement. On the first day they had already organised laptops and phones for us which was great.
We had both a development day, which included a really fun team building activity and some excel training which was really useful. We also recieved some excellent presentation training from an expert.

I have recieven an offer to extend my contract as I have already graduated. It could potentially tide me over until the graduate scheme in September 2014, but I have yet to have the offer for the graduate scheme.
The Culture
There were around 40 of us based in Royal Holloway for the 10 weeks and we went out at least twice a week, either to a local pub or to a nightclub in Windsor. Even when we didn't go out there was alway's a large social gathering in one house's kitchen.
We were given free accomodation which was great, but surrey is not the cheapest area for socialising and a night out. The pay was more than enough to cover these costs, and I even managed to save some of my pay.
There were pubs that were really close, but clubs and bars were a £10 taxi ride away in Windsor. With a full car that wasn't too expensive but it was still a bit of an effort to go out.
We were given the opportunity to get involved in the charity challenge to support one of the partner charities in each respective area of the business. I also got involved in the partnership they have with Enactus, a university society.
