  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Yes, it was a really enjoyable experience and I met some lovely people.

    • Everyone was very lovely to us, particularly the graduate recruitment team and the members of the department that I was placed in (projects).

    • There were regular structured sessions as well as the time in your department. In the department, I had a specific trainee who was assigned as my mentor and guided me through the work to be done.

    • The information will help me to put many of my relevant law and business modules in a practical context.

    • We had a very well planned timetable, with a wide variety of sessions.

    • The general atmosphere was very good and everyone on the scheme enjoyed the experience.

    • We completed several skills sessions and the opportunity to actually get involved in work at the firm was definitely beneficial.

    • The insight really helped me to understand what it would be like to work at the firm, particularly at trainee level. The opportunity to be placed in a department was a big contribution to this.

    • The week gave a brilliant insight into the culture of the firm; it came across as friendly and forward-thinking.

    • I was paid £250.

    • There were several opportunities to meet employees at the firm and ask any questions, including networking with different practice areas and drinks evenings.

    • There were two drinks evenings, on the Monday and Thursday. There were also several structured networking events.

    • Yes, there are a variety of extra-curricular activity. The focus on art was particularly unique.

    • I would recommend the insight to a friend if they are considering a career in commercial law or at Simmons & Simmons.
