The Role
I really enjoyed my time spent at Macquarie. I was withing FICC and was able to rotate around multiple desk during my interhsip in both the sales and trading side.
I felt welcomed from the beginning and was given valuable work to do
A lot of support was given and it was easy to ask quesitons when unsure with things.
Usually around 12 hour days. Although a lot of work, it was varied and interesting to learn about.
A decent amount of responsibilty, but never felt as though I was completely left on my own with no help.
The skills I have learnt will definitely be useful in any future career I will have and allowed me to see the practical application of knowledge within the markets.
The Company
Good balance between sociable atmosphere and serious work ethic
Very well organised, with events with other interns throughout the time as well as talks from various executives within differetn parts of the firm
Invested a good amount of time and I really felt as though the work I completed for the various desks was useful and needed.
Company Parties/Events
Positve reviews throughout the time (although yet to find out if job offered)
The Culture
Good evetns were arranged and the other people in the company were welcoming.
Expected prices when living in London. Never too outrageous.
Lots of nightlife in London.
Varied depedning on what team you were working with.
