    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time spent at Macquarie. I was withing FICC and was able to rotate around multiple desk during my interhsip in both the sales and trading side.

  • I felt welcomed from the beginning and was given valuable work to do

  • A lot of support was given and it was easy to ask quesitons when unsure with things.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Usually around 12 hour days. Although a lot of work, it was varied and interesting to learn about.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A decent amount of responsibilty, but never felt as though I was completely left on my own with no help.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt will definitely be useful in any future career I will have and allowed me to see the practical application of knowledge within the markets.

  • Good balance between sociable atmosphere and serious work ethic

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised, with events with other interns throughout the time as well as talks from various executives within differetn parts of the firm

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Invested a good amount of time and I really felt as though the work I completed for the various desks was useful and needed.

  • Company Parties/Events

  • Positve reviews throughout the time (although yet to find out if job offered)

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good evetns were arranged and the other people in the company were welcoming.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expected prices when living in London. Never too outrageous.

  • Lots of nightlife in London.
