The Role
I have really enjoyed it and learn't a lot about the industry and what I may want to do and definitely wouldn't want to do. I have also met some really helpful people who have given me a lot of insight into the working world.
as the time went on I had a little less interaction from them, but think maybe I needed to do more to keep up with them.
Lots of support from my manager who was really helpful. Other colleagues in the bank also very friendly and always will to give advice and experience about them and the area they worked in.
Not hugely busy towards the end of the placement as colleague left me to my own devices. However outside the office I was working in there were lots of presentations for interns giving a good insight into other areas of the bank which I really enjoyed attending.
I wasn't given a huge amount of responsibility in that the work I was given wasn't too important and people weren't depending on me to get it done. I think the more you did yourself the more responsibility you took on.
I learn't a lot about the work place and the industry I am working in. Also the processes within the organisation and how the teams all work together within such a large company to achieve shared objectives.
The Company
Very friendly and socialable and hard working.
very well organised lots of options of things to do and good communication between interns, HR and emerging talent team.
I think the training and development depends a lot on the team you are in and your manager. I was lucky to be in a good area and learn't a lot.
