The Role
I really enjoyed the project I was working on and got along well with everybody I met, senior staff and interns alike.
At all times the importance of the work we were doing was clear, getting direct feedback from both management and our client on the trade floor.
The help from our manager was incredibly useful though fitting into such a busy time table can be a challenge in itself.
There was always work available to do however the work load was cyclical as we approach and passed a deadline.
I was in charge of a team of four including myself and were left to manage ourselves to the most part with occasional guidance.
The skills I picked up were directly relevant this internship being a direct extension of my current MSc. I cannot fault the internship at all on this front everything being 100% relevant to my course and future aims.
The Company
There were always things going on inside the office and usually had people working 24/7.
Each week there was usually at least one event organised for the interns ranging from networking events through to speeches from senior speakers. Lots of effort was put into organising these events each one being a success.
We went through at least four internal training schemes during our internship and were given the offer to take advantage of any resources we needed during our time with J.P. Morgan.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
I cant really rate this as we find out the answer to this next week!
The Culture
All the interns socialised as much as possible with a whats-app group being the favoured means of organisation.
Being central London it is not usually a cheap night out however is almost always worth it.
You cant beat central London for nightlife, there’s something for everyone within easy tube access!
There were a number of events being run by J.P Morgan or members of their staff that were open to all however if you mean are there activities in central London, definitely.
