The Role
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience with friendly colleagues.
I was also asked for my opinion on matters and encouraged to engage.
My management team was incredibly keen to help me, encouraging me to develop even outside there department.
I was busy on a daily basis as i was given a project to work on from the outset.
I was given a fair bit of responsibility but obviously it must be appreciated you will know fairly nothing so this has to be regulated. I was working in a very specialist area aswell so I couldnt take as much responsibility as much as maybe id of liked to.
I will definitely take alot away and it will make me better informed for uni
The Company
I was in a friendly and polite office but maybe not as social as a young uni student would like or be used to!
I was presented with tasks on day one and these were communicated clearly.
I was encouraged to seek out other areas of the bank that interest me and this was really pleasing for me getting to meet senior individuals doing jobs id see myself doing in the future.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
There opportunity is there should you wish to take it as a referral onto the graduate programme is the overall aim which is achievable/
The Culture
My office wasnt the most sociable of offices but i know of other areas in the bank which are more social. Also all interns are encouraged to network and many of them are social. To be honest this was probably a fault on my part of not putting myself out there as much more than a problem with the bank.
I worked in Liverpool st London so obviously your going to be paying a premium as its London at the end of the day. This was okay for me as i lived about 20 minutes away but ive heard of some shocking stories from interns commuting and renting in London. However this is London and you cant do much about that.
Londons London.
Fair amount of opportunities. Again its really about how much you wana put yourself out there.
