The Role
It was a waste of time
They hadn't made any plans for any work to give me; they took me seriously as a person and didn't treat me as if I was stupid, and they appreciated the work that I did
We were meant to have weekly catch up meetings but there were so few people in my office there wasn't much point in doing it, it would have just been the same stuff every week. It didn't really happen.
Not very busy, mostly logging bank statements of charities for several weeks
Not much
I've learnt a tiny bit more about excel but not in a formal structured way. I got used to get up and be on time for work, my commute was an hour and a half.
The Company
Good fun, relaxed, informal
The logistics of starting, the induction day, the communication to us interns so we knew where we were going etc was all fine, but no formal work had been planned for me to do.
There were three or four 1 hours web seminars, referred to as "webinars", which were useful - but nothing apart from that over 10 weeks.
Subsidised Canteen
I would be far too worried that all of my six month placements could end up being like my internship was and that it would give me zero transferrable skills. I imagine doing the grad scheme would only narrow my options rather than broaden them, and my only option would be to serve a lengthy sentence at Lloyds like they proudly boast so many of their employees have.
The Culture
There was nothing facilitated by Lloyds it all had to be done informally via facebook by the interns, and facebook is blocked at work so I barely heard about anything.
Central london prices but we were reasonably well paid so fine
Central london so loads of places to go
Didn't hear about anything like this via email
