The Role
Had a very enjoyable experience, especially helped by the people on my desk.
Everyone was very inclusive from the start, and made me feel like part of the team from very early on.
Sat next to very senior people led to amazing support and guidance.
There always something to do, which was great, but I'm sure I could have worked 24 hours a day with it all!
From the first week was sending out reports to the office, and was given a project that the desk are currently using.
Learnt a lot about time management and 'life skills', but also programming which is very useful.
The Company
Trading floors are exciting, but Macquarie is very friendly and there was always a buzz.
Pretty well organised, wasn't really sure which desks people were going to - but I suppose that's to be expected as head count can change!
Senior managers would want to build up your skills.
Company Parties/Events
Seems like an organisation that's building up, but also very tight on head count.
The Culture
Friendly people who were keen to socialise
Lived in Claredale house (15 mins from work) and cost £168 a week, which was good value. London is quite expensive to go out in though!
Bars opposite the office, 10 minutes from Shoreditch.
Some opportunities, eg football, but didn't notice this much.
