The Role
Very enjoyable, a good balance of work and socail events provided during the internship.
I was warmly welcomed and felt like part of the team straight away.
Great support during the first month, my manger was on honeymoon the whole of the second month so it tailed off towards the end of the internship.
A good balance, busy at times but I was given freedom to explore other departments with any free time I had during the day.
A fair amount, there was enough controls and checks incase any work was ever incorrect.
Good transferable skills especially in Excell and Powerpoint.
The Company
Alright, fridays were really enjoyable.
Average, I feel that there could have been more structure and work events after the first few days offical training tailed off especially in the back office.
Not a huge amount, this was mainly becuase they closed the finance graduate scheme so working as a summer intern in finance we were surplus to requirement.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
They informed us a month before starting the placement that there would be no jobs at the end for all finance graduates ... this was highly disapointing and didn't show the company in a great light.
The Culture
There was outside work hours, HR closed personal chat channels between fellow interns which were not work related.
London is London, you get used to paying £150-300 a week rent and £5 for a pint but this is why you earn more than working out of London.
Something for everyone
A few socials put on but UBS and a few with teams which was great.
