The Role
I was given my own project working as a financial analyst for their bakery project, not only was my work useful to the company but I worked with great people along the way!
Everyone was very friendly and I had the CEO of Euphorium congratulate me on my project and comment on how it was an integral prototype for the future of the business.
The line managers were very supportive and we had weekly meetings to discuss progress and often met up during the week to talk about specific things, we were in constant contact. However, it was often hard to contact the course managers and organisation was poor at time. However, this was the first internship Tesco have done so it was bound to be slightly less structured than other internships.
It was a classic 9-5 job however you would find yourself staying until 6 or 7 on especially busy days and the hours during the day went very quickly when there were lots of tasks to be done.
I was purely in control of my project and they used the information I produced to decide upon whether to carry on or discontinue particular lines if profit margins were too low, leaving me with a lot of responsibility on my shoulders!
The internship allowed me to relate my studies at university to management accounting techniques in practice and develop an understanding of which theories can be coordinated into everyday business.
The Company
Fun, bubbly and constant communication between departments. A few practical jokes too!
It was well organised considering it was a first internship scheme offered by Tesco
There was a lot of time and effort put into the internship scheme and the investment they made was hopefully returned by the work completed when I was here.

Working from home
Tesco boasts a great place to work and is the top 10 for UK graduate employment oppurtunities.
The Culture
I met some great people on the internship and every week there would be a get together in London either in the format of a informal meal or night out.
I was living from home so it was cheaper for me, to socialise it was very expensive as the only places to go tended to be in London central.
Central London so expensive, but good!
There was plenty of sport and Tesco encouraged it if you were interested often letting you go early from work if you were passionate about something.
