The Role
At first it is always tough to get used to the tools and project management, but afterwards I got used to it and I became more fluent in overcoming the tasks given to me
I always felt like a member of the team and an equal even though my experience and input to the group cannot be compare to that of the other team members (at least at the beginning)
My manager has always supported me when I required and taught me what I need to know with patience
I have always been busy, sometimes it can be a bit stressful but the work environment is relaxed an informal, which helps a lot to ease the pressure. Also, you get used to it, its real life!
The team I was working for was in a crucial part of the project when I arrived and they gave me a lot of responsibility. Mainly with regards of testing and quality assurance.
It has taught me to better ensure that whatever I program has a better standard, how to communicate with other members of a team, how to manage a project, etc
The Company
Very relaxed an informal, everyone is very nice to everyone. Those are the company's values!
Everything was well planned, I had enough resources available to complete my tasks, a comfortable environment and my work as part of the team was well defined
A lot of meetings for the interns to talk about specific topics. Many written resources on the web available (including talks, documents, papers, etc). Meetings are arranged every now and then to discuss topics over lunch and learn
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
ARM is a great company to work at. The companies resources are great and the work environment too. Also, the products and ARM'd position in the marked makes it a very appealing place to work
The Culture
A lot of weekly meeting, a students committee for events...
Cambridge is expensive
ARM is in the out skits of Cambridge and thus there is not much of a night live around it. But Cambridge is a very popular place for tourism and thus benefits from having a good night life
Lots of groups for football, basketball, etc
