The Role
I really enjoy working at Hays. It is an extremely varied job and no day is the same.
At Hays you are not treated like a placement student, I was very much welcomed in to the team and work alongside my colleagues rather than beneath them.
My regional director has been extremely supportive and motivating. She will always give me her time to provide me with help or answer any questions.
Extremely busy! There is no way of predicting how busy your day is going to be. There are always things to be doing, you can arrive early and leave late and still not get everything done.
We are given a lot of responsibility. We are essentially doing the same jobs as our colleagues and are expected to reach similar targets. We are not treated like placement students, it has been very clear that our Director wants us to get a real experience of life at Hays so we are doing the same job as everyone else.
I have learnt a lot about the business and the recruitment industry on a whole. I can relate a lot of what I am doing to what I have learnt at university and believe the year will really promote my development and help me with my final year of studies
The Company
It could sometimes be a tense atmosphere as it is a target driven job but it is also a lot of fun.
We followed a training programme.
The training is excellent, they really invest in your development. It is very much the type of job where you get out what you put in however, so you need to want to succeed!
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
The managers have been very vocal about future opportunities at Hays after the years placement
The Culture
There has been nights out and social events
My placement with Hays is in Sheffield which is also where I am at University so the cost of socialising hasn't altered.
Sheffield is a great city for students
The hours are long so there are not many activities to get involved with aside from work nights out
