The Role
After training the team made me feel welcome and i was immediately given meaningful projects to assist with.
Obviously the team is very busy but they made time to go out for lunch with us interns and also arrange evening drinks on a few of the evenings
Support was given when asked for but you are expected to use your initiative to figure out most things
Mostly a good balance, initially the work load was less due to the summer months, but as the internship progressed the workload increased
A good amount of responsibility was given, although evidently this was checked by more senior members of the team before being sent to clients etc
Within my team i learnt a lot since i wasn't from a finance background, modelling in excel has helped my understanding of the role more generally
The Company
Good atmosphere and interaction with other teams
Very well organised by HR with training in the first week before introduction to teams and subsequent training sessions each week
Good initial training at external locations with teach-in sessions on a weekly basis broadening understanding of different teams
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I would enjoy working within this organisation in the future as i think there is a positive change taking place
The Culture
The social scene is dependent on what you make of it, nobody will force you to go out if you don't want to. HR organised events were also enjoyable and helped inters to socialise
Being in London things can be marginally more expensive, but this depends on the area in which you chose to go out
Being in Central London there was a variety of things to do and places to go to all within a short taxi drive away. Good bars and nightlife when work permitted
Encouraged to do a volunteering project in the first few weeks of the internship
