The Role
Was a great experience. There was a relaxed atmosphere, with people finding it easy to share a laugh.
Was made to feel as though I was a key member of the team. Colleagues respected me and the work I did.
Manager very supportive and dedicated time to me as and when required.
Was set specific projects to do throughout the placement. Most of the time I was completing these, but there were points where there was little to do on these projects. During these periods there wasn't too much to do.
Was given some responsibility, and many opportunities to take work further and resultantly gain further responsibility.
Gained alot from attachment. Developed my skills and helped me to determine exactly what to work on in my final year at university to develop skills further
The Company
Everyone was friendly to interns and treated them as a normal employee. Always a laugh in office, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and were never too stressed.
Placement was set up well by company, and it was clear they had improved on it year on year and wished to keep it that way. Was clear they had invested alot of time into organising placement, and they saw it as a great way recruit people for long term.
Lots of time spent with supervisor helping development as well as spending time with others to find out more about their roles. There were good opportunities to find out more about any parts of the sector you were interested in.
Company showed interest into employing many of its interns for further employment. Had presentations explaining process to gain further offers, as statistics show they give offers to most interns for graduate scheme.
The Culture
There were a large number of interns creating a lively social scene.
Good
Average
Were many sports clubs and societies, but because I was only there for a short time, I did not join any of these. Was on site gym which seemed very popular, as well as many on site sports facilities including tennis courts/cricket pitches.
