The Role
It was a fantastic learning opportunity. I was given a wide range of tasks, which increased in complexity as the placement progressed. I was also given the chance to interact with people from a wide range of ares across the company.
I left with the impression that the work I'd done was beneficial and added value to the company.
Management regularly took time to provide support and guidance
There was a constant of work
At first not a huge amount, but as time progresses and you prove your competency you're treated like anyone else on the team
Having completed the placement I look at all the work I do in university differently

The was a friendly atmosphere in the office, and a wide range of social events after work
The company was fantastic in sorting out accommodation, with help setting up bank ac, national insurance no etc
The company provided training and assistance throughout the placement

I was offered a job as soon as I returned to college.
The Culture
I didn't know anyone in the city before moving, work provided a great opportunity to meet people. I regularly went out with colleagues and other placement students.
It was very cheap compared to Dublin, slightly above average for the UK
Fantastic nightlife in Edinburgh
There are countless sports and social clubs in the company
