The Role
I really enojoyed my placement. The balance between having the right support and being given the responsibilty to work on projects with real value was great.
My team made me feel really welcome from day one and both valued and supported me through the whole placement
I h ad daily support from a team member who was workin gon the same projects as I was and regular meetings with my manager to discuss my progress and things I n eeded to work on. I was given a lot of support with regards to making sure I had the best chance of receiving a referral on to the graduate scheme.
The type of work varied a lot during the internship and this reflected in how busy I felt. To start with I was doing a lot of analysis work which wasn't too busy but then, when I was working with colleagues to share the findings of the analysis, I felt a lot more busy which I really enjoyed!
As the intership progressed I was given more and more responsibilty. As the support I was given was so valuable, the responsibilty I was given was great as I never felt out of my depth. For the last couple of weeks of the internship, as well as completing my regualr work, I was holiday cover for the sports and social co-ordinator's role which was a management role and I really enjoyed working on something different
The Company
During my internship there was a rounders tournement running between departments which really encouraged everyone to get involved and have fun at work. There was also a mini olympics which was great fun
The objectives and requirements of the internship were clearly explained at the beginning of the internship. A development plan was agreed between me and my manager in the first week and this was reviewed regularly. Induction and closing events were run by HR where they explained their side of the organisation
I worked on my development plan during my internship and took part on web-based trainings and webinars to help with this

I would really like to be referred on to the graduate scheme and, although I dont find out if I have been sucessful for 2 weeks, I have gone through the referral form with my manager and am quite confident that I have done enough
The Culture
There were no other interns/grads in my office but I was given chances for networking during the induction and closing events in London. I was also allocated a grad 'buddy' who I shadowed in his office for a day which was a great opportunity to meet some other people
