The Role
Overall the job has been a fantastic experience. I have learnt a great deal about both the business area and what I want in a career.
I was lucky to work in a welcoming and friendly/relaxed team who set me work that actually affected teh day to day life of the business. Being set genuinely challenging and important work is the reason I would rate the internship so highly.
Weekly review meetings and a relaxed nature of "just ask if you need help" meant I received plenty of support from my manager.
some days I could have been busier but there was not an overall lack of work because other days I felt rushed off my feet. My work just followed teh natural ebb and flow of the office as a whole.
At the start I was mainly doing somewhat menial work but by the end I was being involved in genuinely important work which affected teh team as a whole.
My degree is not affected but "skills for life" is definitely a reflective statement.
The Company
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As with any work-place it takes a while to settle in but once I found the people I could have a laugh with the office was a brilliant place to work.
The business side of the internship was reasonably well set up but this is inclusive of the fact that it didn't feel like an "internship" but a job for the company.
I think the HR department spend a lot of time choosing the candidates (apparently only 1.4% of applicants received an offer) but my manager and team also invested a lot of time and effort on my development even though I was only there for ten weeks.

The employments prospects are marvellous with approxiamtely 75% of interns receiving an offer for the graduate program (although they have not yet released these offers so I do not know if I have a place).
The Culture
Regarding the other interns the simple answer is no. I had interaction with other interns through a team event to raise money for charity but I had almost no other social contact with interns. Amongst colleagues everyone was really friendly and we regularly went for coffee.
It's London so it costs a fortune.
The City shuts down after 6pm but I'm not interested in nightlife anyway.
As interns we were challenged to raise as much money for charity as we could which was a great way to move beyond day-to-day business.
